Usage is limited by a session-based allowance that resets every five hours. The number of messages varies with demand, conversation length and complexity, selected model, and enabled features. Anthropic may impose additional limits for fair access. Web search, file analysis, code execution, voice, and other tools consume the same shared usage allowance.
Limited usage compared with paid plans. No Claude Code, Research mode, Claude Design, Slides, Docs, Claude in Chrome, Microsoft 365 integration, Opus access, usage credits, priority access, project sharing and collaboration, centralized administration, SSO, audit logs, custom data-retention controls, or enterprise security controls. Free users can create up to five projects. Artifacts and code execution/file creation require the relevant capability to be enabled in settings.
