A user creates or joins a workspace, then adds projects, tasks, documents, files, URLs or connected services. They can prompt Taskade to build an app, configure an AI agent or create an automation, review the generated workflow and run it manually or through triggers and schedules.
What is Taskade?
Taskade is a collaborative AI workspace built around projects, tasks, documents and shared workspace data. Its main distinction is that the workspace is also used as the context for AI agents and automated workflows. Rather than functioning only as a chat assistant or task list, Taskade lets users configure agents, connect services and turn multi-step processes into repeatable automations.
The product is particularly relevant to founders, operations teams, agencies, product teams and small or mid-sized businesses that need to organize work and build lightweight internal tools without traditional software development. It can also support individual research, planning and content workflows.
How Taskade is used
A typical workflow starts with a workspace containing projects, tasks, documents, files, URLs or connected services. A user can then ask Taskade to create an AI agent, generate an app or design an automation. The result can be reviewed and adjusted before it is run manually, triggered by an event or scheduled for later.
For example, a team might keep operational information in shared projects, create an agent that uses that information as knowledge, and connect the agent to email, a CRM or a project-management service. Another user might generate a dashboard, form or client-facing portal from a prompt, then publish it with the access controls available on the relevant plan.
Core capabilities
AI agents with workspace context
Taskade supports custom agents with instructions, memory, tools, commands and connected knowledge. Agents can use workspace content and, where configured, web search, website scraping, files, URLs and connected services. This makes them more suitable for recurring, context-dependent work than a standalone chatbot with no access to the user's operating data.
Taskade documents its TSK-1 intelligence layer and access to multiple model families from providers including OpenAI, Anthropic and open-weight providers. Exact model availability and routing can vary by plan, selected model and feature. Users may also have model-selection options, while bring-your-own-key support is documented for Enterprise.
Workflow automation and integrations
Automations are a major part of the product. Users can create workflows with triggers, actions, branching, loops, scheduling, retries and agent steps. Integrations and connectors cover services such as Slack, Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Notion, Salesforce, HubSpot, Shopify, Stripe, GitHub, Jira, Trello, Asana, Zoom and many others. Depending on the integration, a workflow can synchronize information, respond to events or pass data to an agent.
This places Taskade closer to an AI-enabled workspace and automation platform than to a conventional task manager. It overlaps conceptually with tools such as Zapier Agents, but Taskade keeps projects, workspace knowledge, agents and generated interfaces within the same product.
AI app generation
Taskade Genesis can generate app-style experiences from natural-language descriptions. Supported outputs include dashboards, portals, forms, websites and other lightweight tools. These generated applications can be connected to workspace data and workflows, and eligible plans can publish or share them through public or private access.
This capability is useful for prototypes, internal tools, simple client portals and structured operational interfaces. It should not be treated as a replacement for a full software engineering environment: the research describes no-code app generation and workflow configuration, not a general-purpose coding platform.
Projects, documents and team collaboration
The underlying workspace remains important even when AI is not involved. Taskade supports shared projects, tasks, documents, tables and structured data, with collaboration, permissions and administrative controls. Teams can use it as a common place for planning and knowledge organization, then allow agents and automations to work against the information they have deliberately connected.
Who is Taskade for?
- Operations and business teams: Useful for connecting recurring processes, team data and external business tools.
- Founders and small businesses: Suitable for building lightweight internal tools and automations without maintaining a conventional application stack.
- Agencies and client-service teams: Helpful for creating shared workspaces, portals and repeatable workflows.
- Individuals: Can combine personal project management, research, writing and custom agents in one workspace.
- Technical teams: REST API, webhooks, HTTP actions and MCP support provide ways to extend workflows programmatically.
Taskade is less appropriate for someone who only wants a specialized writing, presentation, transcription, image-generation or video-editing application. Its broad feature set can also require more configuration than a focused task manager.
Pricing and access
Taskade has a continuing Free plan with usage and workspace limits. Research for the current product describes two users, one AI agent, up to three automations, a limit of up to three Genesis apps and a one-time 6,000-credit grant made up of verification and first-build credits. These limits and included features may change.
The current pricing information lists Pro at $10 per month, with monthly or annual billing options. Paid plans provide recurring AI-credit allowances and expand collaboration, integrations, automation and app-building capacity. Additional credit packs are available, while Enterprise pricing is custom. Because many AI actions consume credits and allowances vary by plan, the subscription price alone does not describe the practical cost of intensive use.
Platforms and integrations
Taskade is available in web browsers, native applications for macOS, Windows and Linux, mobile applications for iOS and Android, and extensions for Chrome, Firefox and Edge. The product is designed around a connected workspace, although its desktop and mobile applications provide offline-related functionality.
Its integration layer matters as much as its interface. Connecting email, files, calendars, messaging, CRM, commerce and project-management systems allows Taskade agents and automations to operate on information that would otherwise be spread across separate services. Integration behavior, available actions and plan limits should be checked for each workflow.
Privacy and important limitations
Taskade states that users retain ownership of their content, that it does not sell data or use it for advertising, and that customer content is not used to train generalized AI models. AI requests may be processed by third-party providers and may be handled outside the United States depending on the selected model. Workspace owners control access to workspace content, and agents receive only the access granted to them.
The company documents encryption in transit and at rest, workspace isolation, role-based access controls, SSO options and security information through its Trust Center. However, Taskade also states that it is a general-purpose product, does not provide a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement and should not be used as a system of record for regulated data. Teams handling sensitive information should review the current privacy, security and retention terms before deployment.
Other practical limitations include credit-based AI usage, changing plan allowances, variable model routing, feature differences across platforms and dependence on internet connectivity for many core functions. Generated apps and workflows may reduce setup time, but they still require review, permissions management and maintenance as connected services or business processes change.
How Taskade differs from adjacent AI tools
Unlike a general-purpose chatbot such as ChatGPT, Taskade is organized around persistent projects, shared workspace data, agents and executable workflows. Unlike a focused knowledge workspace such as Notion AI, its current positioning places greater emphasis on configurable agents, app generation and multi-step automation. It is therefore best understood as a combined collaborative workspace, no-code AI agent builder and workflow platform rather than simply an AI chat interface.
Is Taskade a good fit?
Taskade is a good fit when the goal is to combine project organization with AI agents, connected knowledge and repeatable automations. It is especially useful for teams that want to prototype internal tools, coordinate work across several services or give agents access to controlled workspace context.
It is a weaker fit when users need a highly specialized creative application, advanced software-development controls, a regulated-data system or predictable unlimited AI usage. Prospective users should test their actual workflows against the relevant credit limits, integration actions, permissions and platform-specific behavior before moving important processes into the workspace.
